Privacy Policy
Effective 27 June 2026 · Operated by AEA Solutions Ltd · help@moth.solutions
Bluntly is a browser extension that scores how well a job listing fits your CV and gives honest, specific feedback. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
What we collect
- •Account info — your email address, from Google sign-in or an email/password account.
- •Your CV — the CV text you upload or paste, so we can score jobs against it.
- •Your preferences — optional profile details (target role, location, salary expectation, work type, years of experience).
- •Job listing content— when you ask Bluntly to analyse a page, we read that page's job title, company, and description. We only read a page when you trigger an analysis; we do not collect your general browsing.
- •Saved jobs & usage — jobs you choose to save with their feedback, and how many analyses you run per day (to enforce plan limits).
We do not collect your browsing history, and the extension does not read or transmit page content unless you actively run an analysis.
How we use it
- •To analyse a job against your CV and generate the score, reasons, CV suggestions, and (on Pro) cover letters.
- •To save your CV, preferences, and saved jobs to your account so they're available across devices.
- •To authenticate you and enforce free/Pro plan limits.
We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use your CV or job data to train our own models.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, by category:
- •Cloud hosting & database providers — to securely store your account, CV, preferences, and saved jobs, and run our backend.
- •AI model providers — your CV and the job text are sent to generate your score and feedback; they do not use API data to train their models.
- •Authentication provider — if you sign in with Google, to verify your identity.
- •Payment processor — if you subscribe to Pro; we never see or store your full card details.
A current list of the specific sub-processors we use is available on request at help@moth.solutions.
Google API limited use
Bluntly's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google sign-in only to authenticate you, and do not transfer or use that information for any purpose other than providing and improving Bluntly.
Storage & security
Data is stored on our database provider's infrastructure and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Database access is restricted so only our backend can read or write your records; our API keys and prompts are never shipped in the extension.
Retention & deletion
We keep your account data while your account is active. You can clear your CV and preferences any time in the extension. To delete your account and all associated data, email help@moth.solutions and we'll remove it.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. If you're in the UK/EU, you have rights under UK GDPR / GDPR, including the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
Children
Bluntly is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll change the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
